Investing in our Community

FGV spends 75% of its funding on efforts to ensure the availabity and accessibility of High Quality Child Care for young children ages 0-5. FGV provides additional funding to the Department of Social Services to help working families pay for childcare; administers the NC Pre-K program in Franklin Cty to help four year olds get ready for school; and provides techinical support, educational materials, and wage incentives to childcare facilities and workers to ensure continuity of care.
FGV understands the importance of Family Support. By reaching out to local families and community partners, it identifies the needs of families with young children and provides additional assistance to teen moms and children not served in a traditional child care setting. FGV also has early literacy programs which distribute age appropriate books to encourage reading.
