FGV Smart Start is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of young children and their families in Franklin, Granville, and Vance counties, North Carolina. Our mission is to ensure that every child in our community has access to the resources and support they need to thrive during their crucial early years.

As the local administrator of Smart Start funds allocated by the North Carolina state legislature, we play a vital role in supporting programs and initiatives that benefit children from birth to age five and their families. These funds are strategically invested in evidence-based programs that promote early childhood education, health and wellness, and family support services.

At FGV Smart Start, we understand that it takes a village to raise a child. That’s why we serve as a catalyst, bringing together diverse stakeholders, including educators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and parents, to collaborate and create a comprehensive network of support for our youngest citizens.

One of our core responsibilities is to educate the community about the critical needs of young children and the long-term benefits of investing in early childhood development. We work tirelessly to raise awareness, share research-backed insights, and develop innovative solutions that address the unique challenges faced by families in our region.

Through our collaborative efforts, we strive to create a nurturing environment where every child can grow, learn, and reach their full potential. By empowering families, strengthening communities, and advocating for early childhood education and support services, we aim to lay a solid foundation for the future success of our children and the prosperity of our region.

Join us in our mission to ensure that every child in Franklin, Granville, and Vance counties has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of our youngest citizens and build a brighter future for our communities.
